Welcome to the Association of Incident, Fraud & Claims Investigators. The Association was originally formed in 2002 and was established to support claims investigators involved in personal injury investigation. Today the Association numbers over 1,000 members who are involved in the whole gamut of investigation work.
The Association only supports those investigators who have achieved a qualification which is recognised nationally or accredited by universities. The Association welcomes application for membership from those investigators who hold qualifications which are outlined on our accreditations page.
The Associations board members incorporate professionals involved in all manner of investigation work and our working groups headed up by our officers are aimed at providing technical and legislation updates to our members.
Licensing for PI's
In the future all Private Investigators will require an SIA license. Core competency, qualifications etc will be an integeral part of obtaining a license and work within the Public & Private Sector. Our recommended training in order to comply with the licensing and to be able secure work in the Public Sector will be the Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist (ACFS) which is still the benchmark qualification with most Public Sector bodies.
This qualification maps directly to the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Investigation. You can undertake this qualification with our recommended training provider
For Private Sector it is recommended that in addition to the qualifications above you may want to consider the AVA Level 4 Certificate in Incident, Fraud & Claims Investigation which appears to be the acceptable benchmark qualification for Private Sector work.
The Association of Incident, Fraud & Claims Investigators is operated by Counter Fraud Training.
